After Ocean Park #
acrylic on archival paper
22 x 30 inches
This is from a new series titled 'after Diebenkorn'. I wish to engage my audience with visual understanding of Diebenkorn's geometric constructions deconstructed into their original organic inspiration. I do this through appropriating specific color information (color palette) relating to a specific work which I then use for the title. The titles convey enough conceptual information to direct the audience towards an understanding of the series. At the same time, the works provide for the viewer a sense of timelessness and infinite space which relates the works in a direct fashion back to Diebenkorn's muse, often times this was the Ocean Park area in Santa Monica.
